Annenberg Community Beach House Wedding | Elisheva and Peter

This wedding season has given me many opportunities to shoot in some colorful and scenic locations around Los Angeles. And of course, the beach cities. So, when I was offered the job to second shoot in Santa Monica Beach for Karen Barnes Photography, I happily accepted.

Elisheva and Peter were married at the historic Marion Davies Guest House at the Annenberg Community Beach House. As the hour grew closer the two story house was slowly filled with their closest friends and relatives for a unique and intimate outdoor ceremony.

Laughter

While the whole wedding day is absolutely amazing, there are some moments that especially impress my heart after a long day of shooting.

For example, the moment when the guests stand to their feet and see the Bride for the first time. The sentimental toasts to the Bride and Groom. And my favorite...laughter. The kind of laughter when it's candid and unexpected. The kind that makes memories. The kind that says "I love you".

There is nothing more beautiful on a Bride than her smile and much laughter.

Where's Jeanette?

If you follow this blog, you might have asked yourself this question. As I have asked myself just where does the time go?

Lately much of my time has been given over to community projects, field trips, and end of the school year hoopla, which I'll share more about in the coming days. Meanwhile, here's a picture Robert snapped with my camera of me being...well, ME.


And so, HERE I AM.

Corona Concert | Raymond Gregory

One of the cool things about being a mom...is being a mom with kids who love music. It's common for me to sit at the breakfast table and hear words like falsetto, d minor, uh...

So, over the weekend we attended the KSGN Make A Difference Tour as a family to support our friend and worship leader Raymond Gregory. Cool stuff.

Riverside Engagement | Austin and Kelsey

Mt. Roubidoux is no walk in the park but for Austin and Kelsey it's where they chose to remind themselves for years to come of their engagement to soon be married.

They walked and talked in the morning sun sharing their hopes and dreams for the future where there was plenty of time on our two mile walk to laugh, tell stories, talk music, and appreciate all of Gods beauty from up high on a hill.

Austin and Kelsey, thank you for the experience of that first-time-climb and the honor to be a part of your lives as you join together in marriage this summer.

Happy Birthday Dad

It's one of my fondest memories I have of him from my childhood.

I exploded with details that day as he came home from work. I excitedly shook a quart sized plastic bag in front of him filled with four nails, four plastic wheels, and one block of pinewood. I said, Dad you gotta make me a derby car so I can win! It was typical for me to rush him with random requests at the end of his work day. Dad, can you oil the chain on my bike? Dad, can you drive me over to see where that smoke is coming from across town? No lie.

But this time it was Pinewood Derby race and I wanted him to help me WIN. The night before the race he worked tirelessly on that block of wood. Staying up all night at his workbench to make sure the weight, measurements, and other requirements were all met.

I was 9 years old.



Today, my dad turns 85 years old. He is in good health but much too fragile to respond to my random requests. He still remembers my pinewood derby car and how he carefully crafted it all night long on his workbench. And so do I. He recalled to me recently, I put graphite in the wheels to make them spin faster. We both just smiled.

That year I won first place in my grade level. And on that day my dad won first place in my heart.

Claremont Senior Session | Marissa

Some of you might remember Marissa who I photographed earlier this year for her senior cap and gown picture. Well, she's back! And I couldn't be more happy to share her fabulous-ness with you.

Marissa, It was an honor for me to be included in documenting this wonderful milestone in your life. Knowing you in this short amount of time has reminded me to celebrate life the way that you have. Wishing you much joy and happiness in the years to come my friend.



I love it when a client brings their own props to incorporate into the photo session. It creates images that are more of a personal reflection on who they are and what they're about.




Marissa is a talented musician, fabulous dancer, and avid reader. I like to think of her as a keeper of all things classic--movies, books, swing dancing, the list goes on.







Pride and Prejudice? Helloooo Mr. Darcy! I love that she owns a copy of this book. In hardcover. And yes, Mr. Darcy makes me swoon.
