Debutante Ball

Debutante Ball - A formal tradition of a young lady's coming out or debut into society. In the Filipino communities it is common to celebrate a "debut" on the girls eighteenth birthday, and what a celebration it is!

At the end of the night we decided it was our turn to get jiggy with it! Go Row!

I had the pleasure to 2nd shoot for Rowena Curtis this past weekend, and guess what? We had a blast!

The Debutante Ball, held at The Castaway, was so beautifully orchestrated in detail and presentation. I was so impressed by the love and gratitude that this family showed toward eachother and to their guests. Blessings to the birthday girl!

What's fun about 2nd shooting, is having the opportunity to be creative and help the main photographer capture all the details and spontanious moments of an event.
Row, thanks again for having me...it was a blast!

Salton Sea - Trash The Dress!

yes, I said Trash The Dress! Last weekend I joined a group of about 34 photographers, 8 Brides, and 4 Grooms to network and shoot Brides who were willing to get their dresses a little dirty on location at the Salton Sea!
This was my first trip to the Salton Sea, and what an interesting place it was, so much history involved which I love. We visited the North Shore Yacht Club which was once a popular hotel resort in the 1960's among Hollywood Stars, and where all of the images below were photographed. Our group chose this location because we thought that the abandonment of structures surrounding the Salton Sea would provide some vintage artistic backdrops for our Brides.
A shout out to all the Brides and Grooms who did a fabulous job in front of the camera, and to Chris Austin who organized this super fun day! Thank You! Thank You!

If you are a Bride who is interested in a Day After Session/ Trash The Dress Session on location, please email me for details!

Gastinger family

A few years ago when Robert was starting out in his career downtown, I would often meet him for lunch and he would usually bring his buddy Chris along to join us. Well, I liked Chris from the start. He wasn't shy and we enjoyed our lunch conversations. I could ask him anything, and he either knew the answer or would bring the answer to my attention the next time we met. So, as time went on Chris and Robert continued down their career paths together often working side by side in various assignments.

Today, Chris is still our dear family friend whom we appreciate and still welcome to a good converation. Robert and Chris continue to share an array of stories and work experiences that I am so amused to listen to.
Chris has a wonderful family, beautiful wife, and a precious newborn son, who I was happy to photograph and spend time with recently. Here are some images I captured out at the park.
