The I Shoot People Tour

In keeping up with education I just registered for a workshop with Sallee Photography in LA this summer, and I am so excited! I first noticed photographers JB and DeEtte Sallee from the WPPI convention last month and was curious to know more about them and their awesome work...and now I will!

Michelle Part 2

You may remember Michelle and her beautiful smile from an earlier post here. Since then, Michelle has scheduled another session with me, for her college grad pictures. But this time, at a different location with her cap and gown, "because my mom really wants pictures of me wearing my cap and gown", she said. So, I gladly met up her on a Sunday afternoon at an old historic courthouse for a more collegiate surrounding. Pretty cool huh?

SLIDESHOW

Michelle, congratulations again on this awesome milestone! You are going to be a great Journalist!

FUN FACT: Michelle and I weren't sure which side the tassle was supposed to hang from her cap since she wasn't officially graduated yet...do you know?

Showit Sites

This past weekend I attended the Showit Sites Preview Party hosted by David Jay at Jim Kennedy's Studio in Huntington Beach. This was a great opportunity for us photographers to finally see a demonstration of what is to come with this awesome website software!
I was joined by a few other local Orange County photographers, pictured here below with my point and shoot camera.
Afterward, we walked down Main street with a view of the Huntington Pier and shared a casual dinner of my favorite food...sushi! What a treat this was for me to spend personal time with some of the most talented photographers in the industry.

EDIT TO ADD: Check out the slideshow David Jay made of the Showit Sites Tour including a photo of me catching a shrimp in the teppan grill at dinner!

L-R: Regis, Rudy, Brett, Crystal, Mark, Candice, Dane, Me, David, and Jessica.

I took this pic from David Jay's blog...oh, and may I just say that Jim Kennedy's studio is very impressive!

Here I am with Jessica Claire.

Thanks for having us DJ, I'm excited for the launch of Showit Sites!

Rich and Nicole Engaged

Rich and Nicole are so genuine, spontaneous, and very much in love. Robert and I had the pleasure of spending a beautiful afternoon with them in San Diego last weekend to photograph their engagement session. Rich and Nicole have spent so much of their dating time in the downtown area, we thought it would be appropriate to visit the Gaslamp District for their photos.

SLIDESHOW

We came across a cool new club called Stage Saloon, so we stopped in for a quick visit and a few laughs.

The club had a basement floor where we found this retro type lounge area.

We made our way over to Seaport Village to enjoy the gorgeous sunset!

Rich and Nicole made a 'Thank You' sign for a photo to use on their thank you cards...although this may not be the photo they ultimately use, I thought it was hilarious.

Rich and Nicole, we loved coming out to San Diego and we look foward to coming back for your wedding this summer!

Michelle

Last Saturday I spent some time with my friend Michelle, to photograph her Grad pictures. We walked around the village and talked about her upcoming graduation from Cal State Fullerton. I didn't know this before, but Michelle is a Journalism major. I wanted to be a photojournalist growing up, I said to her. I remembered how exciting I thought it would be to photograph for Life magazine in a third world country...but then I soon realized that God has a purpose and a plan for everyone including Me, and I couldn't be more content with the path I am on and for friendships like Michelle to share along the way.
Congratulations Michelle on your upcoming milestone!

Holy Cow

I love field trips...even if it is to a stinky dairy farm in Chino. This month our school group visited a dairy farm to learn how milk is made and distributed. Afterwards, we sampled our favorite milk products like ice cream and cheese! I on the other hand, can appreciate my favorite creamer which I pour into my hot cup of coffee every morning, yummo...God bless the cows!
