Naomi: Senior Session

Naomi has a sweet shyness about her that inspired me to first, capture her soft natural presence, and second, capture the joy of being a senior!

I met Naomi for a mini session in the village. Soon after, we shared a fabulous Greek dinner and chatted about life over hummus and pita bread.

Congratulations Naomi, I am excited to see where the future take you!

Kainee And Kevin Married

It was another glorious and sunny drive for me along the Pacific Ocean to the church location where I would second shoot with Karen Barnes. The wedding took place at the Wayfarer Chapel in Palos Verdes, a glass church which offered an amazing view of the tall redwood trees, landscape, and ocean. A simple, stylish, and intimate ceremony was the order of the day.

Thanks again Karen, for having me along and for a fun day!

Mom

On Sunday my Mom and I sat out on the patio while the kids ran around and we shared lunch, laughs, and strawberry lemonade. What can I say? I love my Mom.

Mirror Mirror On The Wall

The weekend is here and I am SO ready for it. I woke up this morning to find Robert hard at work in the kitchen scrambling eggs, turning over sausage and brewing a fresh pot of coffee. YES! overjoyed, I sat at the table opened my laptop and breathed in the sweet aroma of home cooking while the kids circled the room grabbing utensil settings and carefully filling their cups with milk, as so not to spill and Mom have to clean it up. Wow, why can't every morning be like this? I asked myself while I took a big sip of my cup of joe. Mother's Day should be everyday, but I guess that Mother's Day thing only happens once a year, right?

And for laughs, here I am in a self portrait. I'll call this one Mirror Mirror...You like?

So yeah, there I was minding my own business while looking for a fabulous place to photograph the bride's bouquet, when low and behold, I found this really large mirror on the wall and decided to snap a little self portrait for my Mom. Yes, my Mom. Hi Mom! Love you!

Tuesday Tidbits #2

Cinco De Mayo? - I couldn't quite remember this morning WHY we celebrate it. I knew it had something to do with a war that happened somewhere at sometime. I thought, and I call myself a Mexican American? What would my Father say?
So, after a little Google search and learning it was a dispute with the French I thought what better way to teach my kids about the history than to make them french toast for breakfast? So, I did.

Olvera Street - I should be there today. Walking around in my leather sandals and browsing around the open air markets holding a warm fresh sugar covered Churro in my hand...but I'm not. So, moving on...

The Macro Lens - I want one. After borrowing, renting, and playing around with this lens...I have finally decided I need it. I really wanted to believe I could get by without it and the extra weight in my bag, but it's a must have for those small detail and ring shots, in my opinion.

Feliz Cinco De Mayo!

Mr. Flashy

Diffusers, off camera flash, triggers, and shutter speeds...those were just a few of the topics our guest speaker, Paul Edward, covered at our monthly network meeting this month. It was cool.

We were all so very grateful to him for driving miles and miles to speak among 15 chatting ladies and to endure our trouble shooting questions with Mr. Flashy!

Also, a special THANK YOU to Rowena for opening her studio to our group each month to use, it's perfect!
